Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a light touch, whole body treatment developed by John E. Upledger D.O., O.M.M. It works with the natural and unique rhythms of the different body systems to pinpoint and address problem sources. Working with the craniosacral system supports and nourishes the central nervous system – improving overall health and well-being.
Craniosacral therapy helps alleviate the aches, pains and strains of life and improve coping mechanisms to allow for better management of stress. It can improve the body’s ability to self-care and can produce profound, positive changes. Concussion, headaches, pain management, motor-coordination issues, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, post-traumatic stress disorder and trauma are just some of the conditions that clients have been helped with.
Craniosacral therapy is now being used in hospitals and sports programs to work with concussions, traumatic brain injury, and trauma from combat.
Just as human clients can benefit from Craniosacral therapy, so can horses as they often have many similar experiences and traumas. Dawn has had extensive training and over 15 years of experience in human and equine craniosacral therapy and can work with just the horse or the horse and rider/owner as a unit. Dawn often works with horses and military veterans in equine therapy programs to help ease physical, mental, and emotional trauma experienced from military service.
